Having The Courage To Ask Bigger Questions With 𝐃𝐫. 𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧 πŒπœπ„π₯𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲

Original Air Date: August 10, 2020

Imagine coming home from work only to find that your partner of 7 years has completely moved out of the home you shared together.

No warning. No note. No discernible reason.

Just the empty space where that person’s furniture, clothes, dishes, and presence once were.

Ok. Now let’s jump back one year.

Let’s say you were to study your ass off for years. You go through the rigorous and grueling process of medical rotations. You walk across the stage to receive your pharmacy doctorate – only to realize less than 1 year later that this profession isn’t for you.

We all have an origin story.

These are just two of the life events that this week’s guest, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧 πŒπœπ„π₯𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 shared with us in this powerful episode.

This interview is personal.

It is vulnerable.

It is transparent.

It is real.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐁𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧 lives the truth that he shares as a holistic life coach, business mentor, and speaker. The core premise of his work is to empower and teach each person he encounters to take control of their mind, body, and life by investing in themselves.

I promise you: you will not regret jumping into this episode. It’ll be a cool pool on a hot summer’s day.

We got real as we talked about mental health, social justice, neuro-linguistic programming, self-awareness, how to transition from loss, and how to move forward when your world falls out from underneath you.

Bryan and I also went deep on men and mental health. We talked about how toxic masculinity and patriarchy keep men in an unhealthy box, and how we can break free from that box.

Most importantly, Bryan made sure that he didn’t just speak in the theoretical or philosophical. He shared tools, steps, exercises, and processes you can use to address the issues that were raised in this interview.

I’m telling you, we went in on this episode.

Here’s my suggestion: hit play and brace yourself.

Going After What Really Matters to You With Rene Wiley

The whole reason I started my podcast was because I recognized I was hiding my gifts.

The main reason:

I was afraid of rejection and ridicule.

Instead of putting myself out there and potentially getting ridiculous - I just hide my voice.

On New Years Day 2016, I envisioned where my life would end up if I were to continue down this path.

I realized that if I continued hiding - I would end up with a life of regret.

Worse - it would be a wasted life.

I wasn’t about to let that happen.

And so I made 2016 my β€˜Year of Expression.’

I vowed to record and put out a 3-minute video, every Thursday, no matter how terrible I thought it was.

The result was a year of epic growth, adventure, and the foundation for everything I’ve done since.

I am guessing many people can relate to this.

That feeling of wanting to hide so you can avoid rejection.

And yet...knowing you can’t live your life that way.

If you resonate with this then this week’s episode is for you.

It is a replay of my conversation with the legendary Rene Wiley.

Rene is one of my favorite people because he has this unique ability to get you to connect with your body, your spirit, and your passion.

This interview offers a powerful insight into that magic. Rene shares with us his origin story on how he went from a DJ to a high-performance fitness trainer.

Rene also speaks on the importance of listening to your heart and the courage it takes to do that.

Plus - we take up the science of creating the best workout playlist!

You’re going to really love this one!

I’m telling you, this interview is fire!

Check it out.

Your Perfect Day

Peace to you all. I hope you are all doing well and staying healthy in heart, mind and body. Here we are again for another week of our β€œManifesting Your Adventure” series.

Before you go on, for you to get the most value out of this episode, check out the previous 4 weeks’ episodes. We began the series on March 9th and I hope you’ll get a lot of peace from journeying with us through each of the first 4 parts of the journey.

This week in your adventure, we talk about your perfect day.  There has been much research, data and so many success stories of the growth that happens when you get clear about what you want to create. When you can envision this perfect day, you start to bring it to life.

You bring your adventure to life through your reticular activating system, your RAS, or through the joy that you get from envisioning that becomes the fuel that allows you to move towards that perfect day.

We want to make sure that what you are creating in your adventure aren’t goals or desires based upon what may have been instilled in you by others or things you envisioned a long time ago and may not be reflective of what you want to create now.  We are going to get specific in creating your adventure by starting with creating one perfect day.

This is a very fun workshop; one of my favorites and I go through this exercise with all of my 1-on-1 clients. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do.

Fam, make sure to go back to the last 4 episodes before you go through this one. If you’d like to go through the rest of the 7-day program, I’m giving you the gift of 30 days free of T.H.E. Celebration Academy membership. As a member, you receive access to all of our classes and are able to participate in the monthly live workshop that is exclusively for members.

Conversations on Ending Fatphobia With Dr. Jeannine Gailey

Did you know fatphobia bias is the top implicit bias of Americans? This week, I have the pleasure of talking with Dr. Jeannine Gailey, who specializes in gender and deviance.

Her research and teaching interests include sociology of the body, fat or critical weight studies, sexualities, gender, and organizational deviance. We talked about the history of fat bias and being fat and the effect that body-size privilege has on all of us.

If you always suspected there was an unspoken prejudice against those who didn't fit the mold that our culture deems appropriate, you’ll definitely want to listen to Dr. Gailey as she shares her knowledge about diet culture and discrimination and the Fat Acceptance Community.

Dr. Gailey recently guest-edited two special issues for the journal Fat Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Body Weight and Society. Her monograph, The Hyper(in)visible Fat Woman, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2014.

In addition, her work has appeared in journals such as Fat Studies, Social Psychology Quarterly, Deviant Behavior, Qualitative Research, and the Journal of Gender Studies. In 2015, Gailey received the WGST Claudia Camp Research and Creative Activity Award for her work on the stigma and marginalization women of size experience in society.
